Members must have their artwork accepted by a voting jury to become a member. To submit work for jurying, the artist must bring in at least five pieces, ready for presentation (framed). They must fill in an application and may supply any additional information such as slides or photos of other works, bios and artist’s statements.
If accepted, a one-time affiliation fee of $150 is required and first month’s dues/rent (currently $45) must be paid before artwork is hung (at the next regular hanging). Thereafter dues/rent are due and payable on the 1st of every month. In addition, the gallery takes a 30% commission on all sales.
Members Duties: As a member you are required to sit the gallery several times per year, depending on number of members at any given time (approx. 12 - 18 times per year). You are required to attend at least 2 of the 4 regular membership meetings per year and to participate in the annual spring clean up of the gallery. You are also expected to pitch in and help with any renovations or projects that the gallery votes to embark upon. You are expected to maintain your own file with an up to date gallery inventory sheet and to bring in fresh work at least every 3 months.
Members are asked to come to as many receptions as they can. It really is important to support your fellow artists.
